This piece is the dog tag and chain of my brother and best friend USMC LCPL Terry Honeycutt Jr, with a folded American Flag behind it. I got this tattoo in remembrance of my brother who died serving in the Helmand province of Afghanistan on October 27 2010. He was the only true friend I’ve ever had and life as I knew it ended on that very depressing, extremely rainy October day. He was 19 years old, had only been enlisted for just over a year, and was on his first (and only) deployment.
Terry was also the drummer for our 2-piece band, stateofgrace:), which consisted of him and myself. Before he got deployed in July, we recorded our final song together, which is titled “Another Mourning Alone”. The song is on iTunes and has sold over 2,000 copies. All proceeds have been donated to the Wounded Warriors Project and the Fisher House Organization.
The piece was done by Ryan Graham at Village Tattoo in Waldorf MD as my brother was breathing his final breaths. The photo was taken right after the piece was finished.
PS - If you are interested in hearing our final single or purchasing it and donating to the organizations, please go to www.facebook.com/officialsog or www.facebook.com/tjcampos for more information.
GOD BLESS AMERICA.
